Invitation ONK 2024

Dear chess friends,

With this email, I would like to invite you to the Open NSVG Championship (onk) 2024. The tournament takes place from February 8th until February 11th in Ermelo, the Netherlands. It is organized by the Dutch Chess Association of Visual disabled (NSVG).

The location is a very nice hotel at the edge of the Dutch nature reserve Veluwe with excellent food, a nice bar, chess games at levels 1100-1800 FIDE rating and a friendly atmosphere. If the weather is nice, you can also take a nice walk around the hotel. Moreover, with 3 overnight stays, 9 meals and 6 chess games and costs of around € 300,-, you get a lot of value for your money. From February 8th until February 11th, 2024, the NSVG organizes the Open NSVG Championship (ONK 2024). The location is, as usual, the nice group hotel Dennenheul in Ermelo. We are glad to invite you to come and participate in the chess tournament and have a nice time together.

On February 8th, you are welcome at the hotel from 3 P.M. and dinner takes place at 6 P.M. The tournament is played over 6 rounds according to the Swiss system, with a playing rate of 90 minutes for the game and 30 seconds of increment per move starting from move one. Round one is played on Thursday evening, rounds 2 until 5 are played on Friday and Saturday in the morning and afternoon and round 6 is played on Sunday morning.

The costs are € 305,- per person to stay at the hotel and take part in the tournament. For that, you get three overnight stays, nine meals, a nice bar and a lot of fun. And all of this takes place in a beautiful, wooded environment, where it is very well possible to take a nice walk between games. An acquaintance or friend is also warmly welcomed, also if they do not (want to) participate in the tournament.

Tournament formula
The tournament is played in 6 rounds according to the Swiss System. The games are played on Thursday evening, Friday morning and afternoon, Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday morning. It is possible to take a free round (bye) until round 4. We play in one or two groups, depending on the number of participants. Results count for FIDE and KNSB (Dutch) rating. The playing rate is 90 minutes per player for the game and 30 seconds of increment per move starting from move 1.

costs
The costs of the four-day hotel package (including participation fee) are:
- € 305,-
The hotel package includes three overnight stays, nine meals and coffee/tea during your stay at the hotel. Assistants who do not take part in the tournament will receive € 25 discount because they do not have to pay an entry fee for the tournament.

Registration and payment
Registration and payment have to be done no later than February 4th.
Registration can be done via email: toernooi@nsvg.nl, mentioning the following details:
- Name
- KNSB rating (if applicable)
- FIDE rating (if applicable, otherwise please mention the rating and the chess association of your home country)
- KNSB number (if applicable)
- FIDE ID
- Your hotel package (single or double room) and with whom you want to share the room
- Dietary wishes
- Contact information (phone number and email address)

Payment:
Payment can be done by deposit the right amount at bank account NL02 INGB 0002 4011 22 in the name of NSVG in Zeist. For international payments to the Netherlands, you might need the BIC number: INGBNL2A.

The final program and tournament regulations will be sent to the participants before the start of the tournament. Tournament information and list of participants will be published to the website of the NSVG (www.nsvg.nl).
