INTERNATIONAL BRAILLE CHESS TOURNAMENT
IN COMMEMORATION OF 65 YEARS OF THE LITHUANIAN BRAILLE CHESS
May 5 – 14, 2017
Dear Chess Friends,
Lithuanian Blind Sports Federation is pleased to invite visually impaired chess players to the International Braille Chess Tournament in Commemoration of 65 years of the Lithuanian Braille Chess, which will be held on May 5 - 14, 2017. Number of participants is unlimited.
Arrival: May 5, (afternoon).
Competition: May 6 - 14.
Departure: May 14, (after lunch).
Competition venue. Hotel “Karolina Park Hotel” Vilnius. Address: Sausio 13-osios str. 2, LT – 04343, Vilnius. http://www.karolina.lt/en/.
Tournament format. The games will be played in nine (9) rounds by Swiss system. Time control - 90 min. for 40 moves and 30 min. for the rest of the game with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one. All participants are requested to bring their own chess sets.
Awards. Winner of the tournament will be awarded the cup. Three best players will be awarded medals of a certain degree. Money prizes (80 percent of the entry fee) will be given to best three players and the best female player (when a person wins in more than one category, only one prize will be rewarded).
Ranking. If players gain an equal number of points the higher-ranked player will be decided by:

2 - Bucholz
3 - The winner of the match between the players involved
4 - The position will be shared
Accommodation and meals. Participants will be accommodated in twin and triple bedrooms of the “Karolina Park Hotel”. Meals will be served in the restaurant of the Hotel.
Participation fees. Participation fee - 350 € per person (players and staff) per invitational period (double or triple room) and 370 € per person in single room. It includes accommodation and meals from Friday (May 5) dinner till Sunday (May 14) lunch. Entry fee – 10 € per player.
Transportation fee. On request, teams arriving to the Vilnius airport/train-station will be provided with the ground transportation to the hotel and back to the airport/train station after the competition for the price of 25 € per team (not more than 7 people).
Additional stay. If you wish to come earlier or depart later than indicated in the invitational period, you will have to pay additionally: Extra bed & breakfast per person - 30 € (double or triple room) and 40 € in single room, extra lunch/dinner – 15 €.

Visas. Countries whose citizens require visas to enter the Republic of Lithuania are kindly requested to contact the nearest (or most convenient one for you to travel to) diplomatic mission and consular post of Lithuania for visa issues.
If any team needs official invitation from Lithuanian Migration Department, it has to transfer invitation fee of 5 € per person to Lithuanian Blind Sports Federation’s account before March 15, 2017.
Registration: Interested organizations are kindly asked to express their intention to take part in the tournament before March 15, 2017, by sending preliminary information about the delegation (number of players and staff), and confirm their participation in the tournament by sending completed Entry form to the Lithuanian Blind Sports Federation as soon as possible but no later than April 7, 2017.
